Cookie policy

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit it. Cookies let a site remember things between pages and between visits — for example that you are logged in, or that you have already filled in a form.

We also use similar technologies, such as local storage in your browser, and this policy covers those too.

This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

We keep cookies to a minimum. We use them to:

• keep the website secure and working properly;
• let our contact and mailing list forms work, and protect them against spam;
• remember settings for staff who are signed in to manage the website.

Where a cookie is not strictly necessary, we set it only with your permission.

Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically, because the website cannot work without them. Section 8 of the POPIA Regulations and international practice both treat these as not requiring consent.

We do not currently use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.

If we add an analytics or advertising tool in future — for example Google Analytics or the Meta pixel — we will update this policy, list the cookies it sets, and ask for your consent before it runs.

We link to our Instagram and Facebook pages, but those are ordinary links: no cookie is set until you click through, and from that point the platform’s own policies apply.

If we embed third-party content on a page — a video, a map, or a social feed — that provider may set its own cookies. We have no control over those cookies, and you should read the provider’s own policy:

You can accept, block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of this website — particularly our forms — from working.

You can also browse in a private or incognito window, which clears cookies when you close it.

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no agreed standard for how a website should respond to it, and this website does not currently respond to it. Because we do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, no tracking takes place for the signal to prevent.

We will update this policy whenever the cookies we use change. The “last updated” date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
